Huge congrats on creating this game in such a short time!

I found it a bit challenging, but I really enjoyed the progression between levels, especially with the introduction of new enemies. The first-place is well deserved!

I don’t understand the jealousy / toxicity around the “AI-generated” debate. All you did was translate something into a different language, something any non-native English speaker might do for spellchecking. It’s written on the game’s description. You wouldn’t ban a game just because it used Google Translate, and this is essentially the same thing in that specific case.

Once again, congrats to the whole team!

I take it you're referring to my comment. The devs have reached out and clarified things, and I have since apologised(see below).

Firstly, I was going off the information that was in the description, in which they stated that the dialog was generated using ChatGPT, which would be against the rules. They have since changed this in the description, but I was judging based on the information they gave at the time.

Secondly, this has nothing to do with jealousy. My game wasn't even in the top 200, so this game has no effect at all on the placing of mine. I had the best experience during this jam. I played some great games, and now I have a game to work on, so I got exactly what I wanted out of it.

My only issue was that there were some really great games that were made within the rules, so if this was breaking the rules, I felt it was a bit of a shame that they miss out.

So now that I have the full story from the devs, I felt I should rectify things which I have done.

(+3)

Hey!  Just to clarify, my comment wasn’t directly directed at yours since you’re also talking about the game itself. I was referring to another one that’s just here to debate AI instead of mentionning the game, which feels pretty pointless to me.

I’ve also seen similar complaints on the Brackeys Discord, and honestly, it just takes away from the real discussion, the effort and creativity that went into making this game which is reslly unfair for the devs who put so much effort here.

Hope that clears things up!

All good, just a bit of misunderstanding, and I completely agree with you. Cheers.

(+1)

Hi thanks for your support and yes it's my fault not clarify things out(Again!). The information about translating is added this morning after I realize there are some misunderstanding. I can totally understand people have different opinions on the AI generated content and it's my fault to not notice the rule at the first time, and not explain it clearly in the second time.. Next time I'll be more careful on things like this and still, thanks for your debating, it helps me to realize it is an important and serious thing :)

❌ No AI-Generated content.

Bit of a shame the winner of the jam blatantly ignored the rules. Considering this is a team of 5 there's really no excuse for not coming up with your own content, especially when there are solo devs making everything from scratch.

The game is good, but there were definitely more deserving winners that stayed within the rules.

Would be nice to have some kind of moderation in future.

(+8)

Sorry I think it's my fault to not clarify it. The lines are prewritten by me in another language, and since English is not my first language, I put all the lines into Chatgpt to translate them. That's the AI generated part I mentioned in the page. I didn't realize it is not allowed, if it is not allowed, sorry about that.

(+5)

If that's the case then I apologise for my comment. I see you've now clarified that in your description too, I was simply going off what you had originally stated, which was that you used AI to generate the text. Using it to translate is fine in my opinion. Perhaps next time just be sure to be completely clear about everything.

With that cleared up, congrats on the win.

(+2)

Thanks for your understanding~ I'm actually a little confused(not trying to debate, but more to .. curious), where is the line that AI generated content should be allowed? If translation is ok, what about polish the text, what about give the texts and as AI to give different tone/flavor to the text, what about give it the summary and let AI to complete and/or extend? I'm curious how would other people think of these questions as I didn't realize AI generated content was a serious thing before.. thanks!

(+3)(-6)

Hey there, I believe that using AI generated content in this game jam, including writing is not fair for others, when the jam explicitly forbids any form of AI generated content.

(+5)(-1)

Sorry I think it's my fault to not clarify it. The lines are prewritten by me in another language, and since English is not my first language, I put all the lines into Chatgpt to translate them. That's the AI generated part I mentioned in the page. I didn't realize it is not allowed, if it is not allowed, sorry about that.

Congrats Bud u earned it

Job anxiety simulator. :-D

I think this game showcases some of the things that are wrong with the current work culture, and that it’s OK to be honest and slow down sometimes.

Truly fantastic game and message! I hope you didn’t have to grind as hard as in the game to finish it in time, and that you were frequently taking the deserved breaks. Cheers! :-)

Haha I did have a hard time making it but not as bad as the player in the game, well, maybe almost the same, they need to fight the virus and I need to fight the bugs lol. But I do enjoy the result we get.  Thanks for your comment and I'm glad you get the complaint of the current work culture!

I felt office PTSD.
Awesome game!

(+1)

Beautiful art and a great idea. Geniunely enjoyable and overwhelming dealing with the pop ups and trying to keep messaging everyone. The worm was fun as well going to different windows. Congratulations for winning :)

(+1)

The game so fun!

(+1)

This game totally deserves to be the winner of this jam, congrats!
I found a pretty bad bug tho...
During day 5, if you kill the popup virus while the worm virus is on that page, the worm virus will become un-aimable for the rest of the game.

(+2)

ohhh yeah the worm one is a tricky one, fixed several bugs related to it but I guess you still find a missing one! Thanks for letting me know!

(+2)

Had a lot of fun!

(+2)

Congrats for winning the Jam guys! You own it :)

(+2)

Great game! its super creative and special.

I do have a bug that i found though. you can skip days with the arrow keys (not sure if its for dev QA purposes or for the players), but you can go back in the days too. thing is, you can go to day 0, -1, -2 and so on indefinitely. the desktop is empty and there is nothing to do there so i presume its a bug.

(+1)

haha yeah you found it! It is a cheat for testing and I forgot to remove it.. well consider it's a easter egg the virus left for the players :P

(+1)

This game was amazing and super fun to play! The overall aesthetic of the game is so fun. Just when I thought I had the hang of the game, the next day would start and I'd be sweating all over again. I definitely enjoyed it!

Haha that's the real life is. I thought I had the hang of it and next day new challenges shows up XD

(+1)

This is incredible! I'm in love with the aesthetic and how the mechanics compliment each other in adding difficulty.

(+2)

After second day it becomes so chaotic! WOW! These features are fit amazingly!

(+2)

Amazing game! It's soo good and polished, love it! Calm music, amazing sound fx, and game feels so nice!

Review :

👉First, great design overall, the monsters, the PC desk…, the colors are attractive and pleasant. As for the sound effects, nothing to say, perfect. The connection to the theme is also very well done, and the difficulty progresses very smoothly.

👉Additionally, the ChatGPT prompts aren’t a big deal in a game where the story isn’t really important. Here, it doesn’t play a major role, but it’s something to keep in mind for the future. Even though it does make things easier, for this particular game, it's not a serious issue (it's the — that suggests you may have generated the dialogues with AI).

👉Otherwise, the game is perfect, I have no negatives. A very pleasant game to play, very smooth, easy to understand. Overall, a very good game. Check my game 👍

(+1)(-2)

Added the information about chatGPT text, thanks for mentioning it! And thanks for liking our game. I will check your game later as I'm not close to my laptop..

(+1)

Thanks dude

(+2)(-2)

The jam literally has a no AI rule dude

(+2)

the idea is very similar to mine Auto-Virus by AdqmO. But has very unique mechanics. What can I say, great minds think alike lol

(+1)

haha true! I was planned to add some mini games like your mini games but did not, because I feel the current game is kind of hard enough for player as me :P But yeah, we think like~

(+2)

Really cool, gets super duper chaotic after a while! Great humor and the art is stunning!
